MLK Jr. Day of Service

On Monday, January 15th, the Ewing, Hickory Corner, Lawrence, and West Windsor branches will be open 9:30am to 5:00pm. All other branches are closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Card & Letter Writing Drive

The Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday is a national day of service celebrating the civil rights leader’s life and legacy. Throughout the month, all branches of MCLS are offering opportunities for community members to write letters or make handmade cards to be delivered to homebound participants of the Mercer County Meals on Wheels program. MCLS invites community members of all ages to take a moment to create a letter or greeting card, to make someone’s day a little more special.

Participate anytime between January 15th and February 4th.

  • Check with your local branch for opportunities to create cards and write letters for Meals on Wheels recipients.
  • Branches have a variety of templates and prompts available for participants of all ages to create cards and letters.
  • Feel free to draw, color, or add a few kind words to help make someone else’s day special!
