Drop by the Lawrence branch on Sunday, June 5 from 1:00 to 3:00pm, to chat with volunteers from Be SMART, Wear Orange, and Moms Demand Action, who will staff an awareness table near the front lobby. Kids can complete a worksheet with dot paints.
Be SMART: Discussing Safe Gun Storage (Virtual Adult Program)

As parents and guardians, we’re responsible for keeping our children safe. The Be SMART framework teaches five simple steps we can all take to keep our families safe by keeping firearms responsibly stored. The Be SMART program also includes strategies to initiate conversations with family and friends about responsible firearms storage.
Be SMART for Kids is an educational campaign created by Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America to protect children by promoting responsible gun ownership and reducing child gun deaths. The campaign focuses on education and awareness about unintentional injuries or deaths of children caused by unsecured firearms.
