Mercer County Library System (MCLS) partners with Rutgers University School of Social Work to assist Mercer County residents who are in need of social services. The interns are students working towards obtaining their degrees in social work. MCLS interns are available to connect residents with social services agencies and resources throughout the County.
A social work intern is available for legal & immigration assistance; housing assistance; food assistance; support group contacts; family & childcare assistance; help with navigating health insurance; mental health services; senior and veteran services; and services for those with disabilities.
Interns will work with the MCLS from October through early December 2022, and again early January through mid-April 2023 at the locations listed below. Scheduling options will be available for in-person or virtual support as well as support by phone. Branches and hours are below:
- Thursdays – 2:00 — 7:00 PM
- Mondays – 2:00 — 8:00 PM
- Fridays – 1:00 — 5:00 PM

- Choose a date and time for your appointment.
