Hold lockers give you the flexibility to pick up your library materials 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even when the branch is closed. Currently, hold lockers are available at: Lawrence Headquarters Branch and West Windsor Branch. Items will be held in the locker for five days. If not picked up within that time, the hold is automatically canceled.
How to use hold lockers
- Place a hold on our catalog website or in our app the way you normally would, except you will select “Lawrence Hold Lockers” or “West Windsor Hold Lockers” as the pick-up location.
- When your item comes in, you will get a notification that the item can be picked up.
- At the locker, move the protective screen cover and use the barcode scanner to scan your library card, key tag, or the digital library card in our app. Make sure to hold the barcode at an angle and about six inches from the reader. You may also type in your barcode using the on-screen keyboard, make sure to type all digits and do not include spaces.

- The screen that comes up will show you the locker(s) (A) where your items are located. There is a checkbox next to each item (B) or you may use the “Select All” button (C) to select all items in the locker. Note you must take all items in the locker and cannot choose to come back later to remove additional items.

- After selecting the items, tap the “Check Out Selected” button (D) and the locker door will open.
- The screen will change slightly:

- Note the due date (E). The lockers do not issue receipts, but the due date can be seen on our catalog page or in our app.
- Collect your items from the open locker and close the door.
- Tap the “Done” button (F) to complete the transaction and log out of the locker system.
- Please replace the protective cover over the screen to protect it from the elements.
