Let’s Make Guatemalan “Kites”
Just like the festival kites flown on el Dia de Todos los Santos in Santiago Sacatepequez, Guatemala, we’ll make beautiful kites as a way to remember and honor our ancestors. All materials provided. Ages 6 – 11. Registration required. Space is limited.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage at Story Time (Outdoors)
Enjoy a half-hour of stories focused on Hispanic Heritage, plus songs and movement. Children will also receive a themed craft to enjoy working on at home. Ages 2 – 5, with a caregiver. Registration required.

Adult Craft: Mexican Hot Pepper Poms and Spices
Make a colorful tissue Mexican chili-pepper pom to hang in your kitchen. Participants will also receive some Mexican recipes and dried chilies to take home to try. Registration required.
Library Exhibit: Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope
Our display focuses on the diversity of the Hispanic American community, as they pursue their hopes and dreams, as well as inspiring others. During library hours (October 4 – 17).

Free Internet access is available on all of our public PCs. We also have Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Our staff are happy to help you with computer questions. You are welcome to bring your own device and connect to our free wireless service. We also have printers, a copier, and a scanner for document or image scanning.
There’s more than books and DVDs. Using our public computers, you can connect with others through social media like Facebook and Goodreads, create professional documents in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and more. Our goal is for you to feel good using technology, and we will take the time to help answer your questions. Looking for information on a topic and finding yourself stumped? Our librarians can help you get answers, whether you are researching something historical or current.
Our children’s collection includes popular juvenile series, books for teens, picture and board books for the little ones, plus books on CD, children’s movies, and read-alongs. We also have children’s books in Spanish. If you need assistance finding appropriate reading materials for your child, our youth services librarian can help you find great books.
