Puzzle Together

550 pieces

Love putting puzzles together but don’t have the time for a whole set? Come to pick up pieces of a part from Lawrence reference desk then  bring back the completed part by Monday, November 15. Instructions of how to return the completed part will be provided. No more than two parts per person, please. This project is for adults and teens 14+. Let’s feel complete together! For questions: e-mail or call 609-883-8292.

The November puzzle theme is: NATIVE AMERICAN TRIBES

Your “take home” labeled bag includes:

  1. Pieces of a puzzle part
  2. Two index cards
  3. A puzzle glue sheet about the size of an index card
  4. A picture of the completed puzzle.

  1. Take an index card. Put the puzzle pieces together using the card as a base.
  2. Cover the completed part with the other index card.
  3. Flip over while holding both sides, so that the back of the puzzle part faces you when you take the top index card away.
  4. Peel off the adhesive backing of the puzzle glue sheet and apply the sheet to the back of the puzzle part.
  5. Return the completed, glued together part to the reference desk in the labeled bag given to you. The label designates the location of the part in the puzzle.

Make sure to return your part by the due date of November 15 so that it will be glue together in the whole picture!

About the Branch

If you haven’t visited lately, you may not recognize us!

Far from its humble beginnings as a one room library behind the Lawrence Shopping Center, the Lawrence Headquarters Branch now stands at the helm of the Mercer County Library System, housing a variety of print, electronic and audiovisual materials, in addition to the Lawrence Historical Collection and the Library Administrative Offices. Numerous book displays, bookmarks, newsletters and other handouts serve to inform and to complement our seasonal decorations, creating an atmosphere of warmth and welcome amidst a very busy building!

During our most recent building expansion, which was completed in 1997, the branch gained an additional 7,000 square feet of library space and now boasts eight conference rooms for community and non-profit use, Internet, word processing, Publisher, Excel and PowerPoint access from every public terminal, extensive print and electronic business reference sources, including Lexis-Nexis and a room dedicated to New Jersey materials that also houses key genealogical research resources and a sixteen PC Computer Instruction lab.

The branch offers a full monthly schedule of computer instruction classes, from an introductory mouse class to PowerPoint and intermediate Excel training, as well as monthly adult programming, book discussions and children’s activities, all of which are listed in our monthly “Calendar of Events” and “Computer Instruction Brochure” and are free of charge. In addition to the more traditional programs, the Headquarters Branch coordinates the system-wide Home Bound Delivery Program, which matches patrons who are permanently or temporarily homebound with volunteers who select and deliver library materials.

Visit the Friends of the Lawrence Library website to learn how to become a friend and other ways to support library programming for both adult and children and for volunteer opportunities.
